Laure-Anne D - she gave her all for France!

Nadia Kamil

Picture
Nadia Kamil hails from Swansea, South Wales and is half Iraqi. She is fondly known at the Edinburgh Festival as the shorter, prettier half of The Behemoth, a double-act with John-Luke Roberts which has been repeatedly smothered with excellent reviews and plaudits including a nomination for Chorrtle's Innovation Award in 2008. She starred in and wrote for all series of the hit BBC7 sketch show 'Spats' and will appear on Channel4 as part of their comedylab season this summer.

She met Kirstin Smith at Cambridge University before training at the Central School of Speech and Drama and they have been making various works since including a table, stationery based activism, a musical based on the water cycle and this show.

Laure-Anne D

Laure-Anne is a sexy onion based in Paris. She has previously appeared in the long-running live tour of Allo, Allo! as well as a Europe-wide schools tour of Do You Believe in Life after Drugs? - a musical about the dangers of drugs based on the hits of Cher. She is delighted to be working with such a talented cast and dedicates this performance to her fans.

Kirstin Coulter Smith

Kirstin Coulter Smith began the accordion last year and has progressed to grade two with some major technical flaws. She hails from Edinburgh, and has worked at the Pret a Manger on Castle Street as well as performing at the Storytelling Centre. Between these, she appeared in the sequel to Elizabeth; The Golden Age, the BBC prime-teatime drama Kidnapped, Sea of Souls (BBC), Taggart (STV) and The Last Muskateer (ITV).

She likes developing new writing and has done so with 7:84, the Royal Court and the Playwrights' Studio.

On meeting, she and Nadia Kamil promptly caused their mutual director to have a breakdown, and a beautiful friendship was born. As part of the company Found Objects they've devised an interactive performance for the Southwark Playhouse, Lost Sand Found, and a musical about the water cycle. Kirstin's just finished an MA at RADA and King's College to buff up her writing. She upholds that there's nothing wrong with scouring second hand bookshops in Manchester for grubby erotic fiction.

Uncle Xavier (but he is not her real uncle!)

Uncle Xavier is Laure-Anne D's Uncle - but... he is not her real Uncle. He owns a little hardware store on the Rue de la France. He is 42 and grew up in Lyons. His previous stage appearances include Les Miserables (20th Anniversary Concert) and Boot Sale Challenge (BBC2). He is set to appear in the upcoming Broadway revival of the musical Hair.
